Season of Creation Reflection: A Conversion of Heart
In the fourth reflection for the 2026 Season of Creation, IPA Justice Contact Maurice Lange from the United States explores the connection between the condition of the human heart, the wounds of war and the degradation of the Earth.
Drawing on Pope Leo XIV’s message for the Season of Creation and Laudato Si’, Maurice reminds us that violence, injustice and ecological destruction are not only caused by flawed systems but can also reflect the division within the human heart. He invites us to consider what may feel divided or distorted within us, what we are giving our attention to and how prayer can lead us towards healing and conversion.
The reflection also offers Scripture, prayer and practical resources to support peacebuilding and care for creation.
